Build it!

What?:  Double bar jump

Tools:  PVC pipe cuter and a tape measure

Materials: 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe in these lengths- two 48 inch, two 36 inch, one 49 inch, four 10 inch, two 2 inch. Eight 3/4 inch PVC tees and an optional six 3/4 inch end caps.

Instructions: Make bottom legs by taking two 10 inch PVC and attaching them together via one tee, then put the end caps on. Make bottom bar by taking the 2 inch PVC and inserting into each leg. Then cover the tops of these with a tee and connect them via the 49 inch bar. At the top of each tee, add a 36 inch PVC for the sides, top these off with end caps.

Then all you need to do is cut the side bars to whichever height your dog should jump and insert more tees. Before you insert the tees however, you should make them into “cups” by cutting the top half off the side of the tee where the jump bar should be resting, that way your dog can knock the bar down if needed.

You can use PVC cement to permanently attach all parts except the jump bars if you wish, though it is easier to transport the jump if you can break it down.
